Pinkie and Bro's puppies at 6 weeks old

The puppies are now 6 weeks old and are doing pretty well! They love, love their goats milk and turkey baby food still. I gave them chicken for the first time today and they were so excited! I will be starting them on Honest Kitchen - Thrive as soon as it arrives. It is a dehydrated dog food without the preservatives and processing and corn and wheat and soy....it just has meat and vegetables.
Here is a link to a video on Honest Kitchen:     http://youtu.be/opreVwb6ac8

If you would like to continue with Honest Kitchen, you can find it on Amazon or  http://leerburg.com/thrive.htm , or Chewy.com.
Hopefully, I will have some extra to send home with you if you decide not to use Honest Kitchen when your puppy comes home.
You can also feed a raw diet or a homemade cooked diet for your puppy. Here is one link out of many:

When I make my own dog food, I will blend up some greens like Kale, or spinach in the blender until liquid, and add that to some cooked sweet potatoes, or carrots, or/and some canned or frozen green beans or peas, and some oatmeal with the meat. Some  say that you should not use any grains, however I have used rice and oatmeal and quinoa. Some researchers say you should use raw meat and bones, and some say that you should cook the meat (no bones!). Usually, the meat is half the portion of food given to the dog. I add supplements also to the food: Nupro All Natural Dog Supplement and NuVet plus.
It is certainly much easier to buy already made quality food for your dog!
Your puppy can start on Heartworm prevention after 8 weeks old. He/she will have her first vaccination around 8 weeks, then she will need 2 more boosters until about 16 weeks. Then, she will get her first rabies vaccination after 16 weeks.
